(Xsata, 19/1/2024). Being a vocational school, SMK Negeri 1 Tengaran is applying the industrial culture into its daily activities. There are five industrial culture taken from Japanese culture, they are Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, and Shitsuke. In English, they are translated as concise, tidy, clean, maintain, and diligent. There is also industrial culture from western countries known as Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain.
Those elements of industrial culture are the basic knowledge that should be understood and to be taught in SMK Negeri 1 Tengaran. The main goal is to introduce the culture applied in industry. When students learn it at school, in the future, they will be able to apply it in industry.
At the moment, SMK Negeri 1 Tengaran is applying the green track. It is a pathway into the school coloured in green. The students supposed to walk on the green track whenever they come in to and go out from school. The green track was painted by safety riding community of TSM.
Ibu Farida Famalatif, S.Pd, M.Pd stated that the green track is one of the effort to build self-discipline and improve integrity. In which these two aspects are very important in the industry. She added that walking in the green track can be a habit for the students. They can do it with or without being supervised by teachers. So, why don’t we start now…walking on the green track, let’s do it.
